The nose and flavor were the same, which was malt and a touch of cognac. I’ve seen this in a few beers that were older in vintage. It’s hop presence completely disappears and the malt turns sweet and alcoholic. If you have a bottle kickin’ around of this, save it for display, don’t bother drinking it.
beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Aug 3, 2004 Again, another beer that I missed adding 2 years ago. Light golden color, medium head. Medium hopped, slightly malty ale. As an oast ale, the brew masters add an amount of distilled hop oil to the beer. Similar to, but not exactly like Portland Pale Oast Ale. A mild ale, with a aromatic hop aroma. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is very hoppy, yet not bitter. Reid (998), Salem, Oregon, USA Nov 15, 2003 Ok saw this beer last spring..weird name..than I saw it today at the cheap canned food warehouse place..$2.99 a six..so here goes.
Pretty average looking extra pale ale type beerdark yellow/gold..not much head..leaves a ring.
certainlly smell the aromatic hops that this is brewd wioth..ok.
taste is mostly bitter hops a small malt profile at the start..a fairly nice hop bite.
Too watery in the mouth for my tastes but its not bad feeling.
This is drinkable for the money I paid but if it were sale at regular MacT prices..not worth it.
