WeeHeavySD (2931), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Sep 10, 2007 1st on my 10 tasting flight @ Portsmouth. Pours yellow with a ring head. Not much of a nose. Taste is sweet, light and really there ain’t much there. Nothing to write home about. kimcgolf (822), Dacula, Georgia, USA Sep 5, 2007 Bought this bomber at the brewery. Poured to a light golden orange with thin off-white head that lasted awhile and left little lacing. Nose was a mild floral hop, and the mouthfeel of this medium bodied beer was a bit on the thin side. Flavor followed the mild floral hop theme and the finsih was medium short and unremarkable.
Not a bad session beer, but nothing great either. kramer (2406), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 10, 2007 22 oz bottle, from brewery store. Pours a clear light straw to yellow gold body with a minimal thin partial covering of white foam. The nose is rather light with some pale malts, light corn, and a hint of DMS. Flavor is pretty good for a Cream Ale. Light husky and crackery malt with just enough bitterness to balance. Finishes with light corn and yeast notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied and airy, yet not overly thin. NIce lively pinpoint carbonation. Pretty good length to the finish. Overall, a pretty darn good for a Cream Ale. Never watery or thin. Well done. TaktikMTL (2739), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Jul 9, 2007 En fût. (Rating #1117) 2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA Feb 14, 2007 Pours a light yellow color with an off-white, fizzy head. Settles a medium yellow color, active body, with good lacing. porterhouse (1146), Alna, Maine, USA Feb 5, 2007 (22 oz. bottle from pub gift shop) Decent refreshing beer...Pours hazy light lemon yellow with a tall white head that becomes rocky as it recedes. Aroma is lightly yeasty, bready and honeyish. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, tiny bit astringent. Flavor pretty much matches aroma with the light yeast/bread quality and a bit of honeyish malt, maybe a tiny hint of citrus tang. Nothing too exciting but nice. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 16, 2006 Portsmouth Carlysle Cream-on tap-pours a big creamy white head with pale yellow/straw color. Aroma is mild sweet malt, secondary citrus. Taste is mild sweet malt, secondary citrus, cream. OK/mild carbonation.
DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA Aug 8, 2006 Rapidly dissipating head, leaving behind some light lacing on the glass. Light aroma of hops and grains. Nice creamy, well-balanced grain, malt and hops flavors. Very light, near-watery mouthfeel. Certainly very crisp and refreshing, but a little too light for me.
