20080729 Tap at brewpub. Simple and sweet, fruity ale with floral aromas. Nice quaff with typical brewpub fare.

Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with tons of bubbles rising to the top feed a white, soapy head that lingers for a while and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is very sweet with honey and some light fruits. There is a bready malt background and some light citrus hops. The taste didn’t quite live up to the aroma and was certainly no where near the sweetness the aroma would have suggested. There is a light hop bitterness up front with the bready malts in the middle before the hops came back in the finish. The mouthfeel is clean with less carbonation than I would have thought. This one is definitely drinkable and one of the better blond ales I’ve had recently. Recommended.

Draught sample at the brewery. Easily one of the better golden/blond ales I have tried. Very pleasant malt in the aroma and flavour.

On tap at Portsmouth Brewery, served in a pint glass a cloudy golden color with a small white head. Aroma was malty with the flavor that followed the aroma.

Average even from the bar. Slightly cloudy with a very subtle head. There was too much of something, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

(22oz bottle, thanks wickedpete) Small white head atop clear golden body. Aroma is moderately sweet, corn, cotton candy, light butter. Taste is medium sweet, corn, some straw, light cotton candy. Light-medium body, light syrup.

Hazy yellow body with a light, white head. Weak aroma of corn and wheat malt. The flavor is weak and watered down, corn, and a light weird bitterness comes through before the finish, which is a mouthful of buttered popcorn. Palate is too full.
