Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pours a clear light brown with a thin white head. Berries, cherry or something similar, with a little acid. Nice crisp sourness on a medium body. Finishes very clean.

Bottle: Ruby with a brownish hue- aroma is predominately fruity notes of cranberry and mild vegetal character. Slick on the palate with a metallic note in the flavor. Has a lactic tartness but there’s not much depth. Some berryish tartness as well. Meh.

Bomber at Peter’s NY gathering - aroma of cherries, yeasty character, yogurt-ish sourness - flavor is tart to sour, but not acetic - light acidity, tart cherries - the malts are quite prominent for the style, so there is a sweet/tart interplay here that works quite nicely - a good american version of the style.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The smell is plums, maybe some wood, stone fruits, tartness, leaves. The look is red to brown in color, no head, and clear. The taste is tart, wood, sour, tons of fruits, dry, nice feel.

Pilsner Peter’s Rate Beer Spring Gathering. Hand Bottled. Pours a brune body with an off white heady. Balsamic, lactic acid, grainy sour cherry, not very good. Not a Flanders red.

Bottle shared by hwwty4, thanks a lot Bill. Pours a dark brown color, clear at the beginning pours and muddies up with the later pours. Has a medium strong head with a sticky lacing. Aroma is full of elements, there is a strong maltiness represented with some chocolate, then there is a woodsy, soil-like earthiness. It s very thick and enticing, think of a Scotch Ale mixed with some musk. No real cherry or much Flanders Red characteristics to speak of but that comes in the flavor. Lots of musky cherry there with a nice and cool earthy tartness and some apple skins to finish it off. Its not sour, its definitely tart, and its definitely got that earthy cherry aspect of a Flanders Red. No acetic character, which I have o.d.’ed on recently so I found this so damn refreshing for a Flanders Red. It is very unassuming but has a nice malt background to go with a more authentic Flanders Red character. Has a nice full mouthfeel with a little bit of slickness at the end. I could drink this for a while.
22oz bomber, sampling glass, thanks again Bill.

Bottle generously shared at the Brick Store with the usual suspects. Pours a clear reddish amber with a thin tan head that recedes immediately and leaves no lacing. The aroma is interesting for the style and is fairly acidic with vinegar. It’s got some brown sugar in the background as well. The taste isn’t quite as good and has a metallic sourness that didn’t taste quite right. There’s a bit of sweetness and plenty of fruity esters. The mouthfeel is very vinous and dry in the finish. Slight tart with the aforementioned metallic twang. This was an interesting beer but not my favorite. The metallic taste really limits the drinkability.
