(22oz bottle) Pours an amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of unripe pear, lychee, peach, blackberries, red plum, and cherries. Flavor of grass, earth, plum, sulfur, peach skins, and apricot.

Bottle. Pours amber/red with a thin ring of off white bubbles. Smells of residual sugar, vinegar, dry, oaky. Tastes dry and acidic with some tartness and vinegar on the finish.

Pilsner Peter’s Rate Beer Spring Gathering. Hand Bottled. Pours a brune body with an off white heady. Balsamic, lactic acid, grainy sour cherry, not very good. Not a Flanders red.

Bomber at PPRBSG09. Pours a clear clean red to dull brownish with a thin head. Aroma is fruity, light cherry notes, dark burnt malts, sour cherry, metallic hints, woody, with some toasty brown malts, vegetal and ginger hints. Flavor is a slight brine with pickle hints, vegetal, more sour cherry metallic and cyanide, deep stewed malts, and toasty grains, sour cherry, and a light tart finish. Strange flanders.

My second Sour of the day, yippee, 7th rating in San Diego, yep thats me. In Cali, further away than florida, sent to me. Held till now, for the real democracy in Cali, I have held it after the non-legal period of non floridian ratings. Pours reddish with a brown color and a tan ring. Nose is sweet and fruity and oh oh oh oh so funky. Taste is tart and rich and prickly on the tongue and overall drinkable. I don’t know but hell, hell, someone said this tasty like weed, another said it smelled like bong water. I didn’t get either of those, but I liked it a lot a lot more than you’d guess.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small off-white head over a clear copper body. Aroma of plums, apricots, estery, peach and lychee. Taste is sour, tannic with a ton of fruit esters, cantaloupe, apricot and dried cranberries. Light bubbles.

Bomber at Peter’s NY gathering - aroma of cherries, yeasty character, yogurt-ish sourness - flavor is tart to sour, but not acetic - light acidity, tart cherries - the malts are quite prominent for the style, so there is a sweet/tart interplay here that works quite nicely - a good american version of the style.

Bottle: Ruby with a brownish hue- aroma is predominately fruity notes of cranberry and mild vegetal character. Slick on the palate with a metallic note in the flavor. Has a lactic tartness but there’s not much depth. Some berryish tartness as well. Meh.
