Pours a dark brown color, clear at the beginning pours and muddies up with the later pours. Has a medium strong head with a sticky lacing. Aroma is full of elements, there is a strong maltiness represented with some chocolate, then there is a woodsy, soil-like earthiness. It s very thick and enticing, think of a Scotch Ale mixed with some musk. No real cherry or much Flanders Red characteristics to speak of but that comes in the flavor. Lots of musky cherry there with a nice and cool earthy tartness and some apple skins to finish it off. Its not sour, its definitely tart, and its definitely got that earthy cherry aspect of a Flanders Red. No acetic character, which I have o.d.’ed on recently so I found this so damn refreshing for a Flanders Red. It is very unassuming but has a nice malt background to go with a more authentic Flanders Red character. Has a nice full mouthfeel with a little bit of slickness at the end. I could drink this for a while. 22oz bomber, sampling glass, thanks again Bill. RCL (1496), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA

Light tartness isn’t overwhelming. Super balance with a great light sweet/tart flavor. WeeHeavySD (3042), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2009 My second Sour of the day, yippee, 7th rating in San Diego, yep thats me. In Cali, further away than florida, sent to me. Held till now, for the real democracy in Cali, I have held it after the non-legal period of non floridian ratings. Pours reddish with a brown color and a tan ring. Nose is sweet and fruity and oh oh oh oh so funky. Taste is tart and rich and prickly on the tongue and overall drinkable. I don’t know but hell, hell, someone said this tasty like weed, another said it smelled like bong water. I didn’t get either of those, but I liked it a lot a lot more than you’d guess. Did this great thing in the glass where it broke the light into spectrums in the glass. Thick lace/light head: you choose. Smell is bongwater (yes, that was me). Taste is tart and pungent.
