Commercial Description:
One more big beer before the summer's heat is on. This Northern style pils is similar to the Friezland Helles style with a strong hoppiness & a touch of fruit.

Pours a rich, crystalline copper. Aroma is sweet, with biscuity and ceral grain notes. Some floral, grassy and herbal notes peek out. Flavor is a bit muted. Some hops initially but the flavor slides into a syrupy finish.

[growler] Nice aroma, bready malt and some earthy hop character. Flavors are clean and malty, with mild residual sweetness. Nice hop character emerges towards the finish. Dense mouthfeel, I agree, kind of sticky. Overall, quite nice.

(Draft @ brewpub) Pours slightly dark orange/amber with one finger of off-white head that recedes to a thin layer. Aroma is fruity, almost grape-like. Nice sturdy rings of lacing. Mouthfeel is medium-full, fairly smooth, lightly pebbly. Fairly sticky, like most of Portsmouth’s big beers I’ve had. Flavor is fairly sweet, some caramel and grape-like fruitiness but a strong flavor profile never really emerges. Some hints of pine, esp. as it warms, and a light bitter bite through finish. Very lightly hot. Not bad but it feels a little raw and maybe needs a little more time.
