Thanks to miketd for bringing this to the Alesmith Release party line tasting. Very thick. Coffee and sweet malts on the nose. Flavors were not quite as sweet, but still lots of coffee and some chocolate. Dark fruit finish with no evidence that this is over 10%. very good

Pours motor oil black with a tan 1/8 inch head. Smells of rich coffee, heavy malt, chocolate, and toffee. First sip is creamy with bitter espresso, chocolate, hints of vanilla. Complex but balanced - very smooth, slightly under carbonated. Lighter than expected lacing. As it warms, the smoothness increases with coffee remaining the dominant flavor, followed by the chocolate. The complexity remains high as the malt sweetness goes toe to toe with the rich coffee bitterness. Wow – This is GOOD!

Thanks to brewblackhole. Dark color. Smell of oak, alcohol, chocolate, coffee, some dark fruit, caramel, hops and alcohol. Taste of hops, malt, chocolate, prunes, berries, coffee cake, oak and some smoke. Very smooth.

Dark brown; lingering brown head. Big aroma of barrel aged yummy, lovely, tasty, want mo imp stout, sweeter and more barrel than most, very subtle pepper, spearment, coconut and fennel...smooth though there’s some strong alcohol lingering. Lovely!!

Rich chocolate brownie batter,oak barrel, and wisps of alcohola and hops carassing the nose, taste is smooth fresh made chocolate brownie, dunked in a gourmet resturant coffee,lots of roasted character and roasted and hop bitterness finishing it off,smooth as creamy custard, doesnt have the slap your palate from a dozen different directions character that I give out 4.8’s and more for,but still an outstanding example of the style

Beer 4 of Officially the Best Thursday in Beer ever in the existence of my life. 750 via Deftim13 and he pronounced this his favorite beer ever so I was even more happy to try it. Pours black with a 2 finger light brown head. Nose is pretty much absent which most everyone I drank this with agreed upon it is the only fault of this beer but it is made up for 100% in the taste. Taste is sweet oily chocolate coffee with a rich body and it is so damn smooth its hard to believe. Wow it is really damn killer overall top notch.

One of the highlites at EBF. Poured black with small head very high coffee and chocolate tastes. extreemly smooth! I want more!!!!!!!
