Oct 6, 2007 (Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2007) Reddish brown colour with brief beige head. Malty nose with dark fruit, caramel and brown sugar. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, prunes, raisins, dark rye bread and a balanced bitter-sweet finish. Balanced and fairly nice.

Sep 17, 2007 Bottle @ Café Jos, Nijmegen. Pours a pale brown with a small creamy beige head - that slowly becomes a staying thin film - a few particulates in the liquid. Aroma has a litte yeast, general caramel sweetness. A very round mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Flavour is sweet, slightly fruity, lots of caramel and with a spicy, lightly bitter finish. Good Dubbel!

Jul 29, 2007 Bottle. Brownish/reddish beer with a strong head. The aroma is quite musty and thickly malty and the flavour is quite fruity with quite a dry finsh accompanied with a malty body. Overall a very average beer.

Jul 9, 2007 Bottle at home. Dark fruits and sugary aroma. Nice, warm taste of cherry, caramel, malt, slight cinnamon and candy flavours. Carbonated. Strong finish. Very nice.

Jun 7, 2007 Fantastic beer. BB feb 2007 so it has matured well.
Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Dark red-amber colour. Heavy malty and moderate hopy aroma. Nutty notes. Moderate sweet light bitter flavor. Long complex finish. Creamy palate. Truly nice beer.

May 29, 2007 Updated: Sep 1, 2007bottle from favourite offie in brussels. I’m not sure why, but I was expecting this to be rubbish. Wrong, I was. Dark orange brown with thin tan head. Nice aroma of rye, dark dried fruits and burnt caramel. Taste is ever so slightly thin - burnt caramel again, bread and oddly, some green apple. Wild. Finish of carrot cake, icing and all. The appley-cinnamon is so interesting. Unique and not a bad buy at whopping 1 euro a bottle.
