Bready malt, candies, caramel sweetness, somewhat nutty, stronger than expected hops presence. Not quite my beloved Maudite but not that far behind. Excellent beer. I’m going postal for the Postel. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2006 Dark brown colored, slight red hints. Medium sized thick beige head. Licorice, red currant, even some sourness in aroma, yeast and spices there also. Interesting and fine aroma indeed. Medium bodied. Flavor is also slightly sour with yeast, spices and hops, still flavor begins with some biting currant and caramel. Aftertaste has licorice, sourness and berries. Complex dubbel one could say.
