Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 12, 2005 A deep red beer with a huge orange-brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries (strawberries, red currant et.al.), wood, and is quite sweet. The flavor is sweet with notes of berries (somewhat artificial), spices - some cinnamon, and a little wood. The mouthfeel is quite carbonated - with the bubbles bursting on the tongue. The alcohol really doesn’t kick in until after You swallow, then it leaves You with a warmth in the mouth combined with a dryness and notes of berries. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 25, 2002 Nut brown. Sweetish, malty & bitter.
Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 6, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Amber coloured with a small dense head. Very fresh, sweetish nose - a bit like fruit winegums... With an Abbey Dubbel you expect a sweet, malty, fullness that spreads in your mouth by the first sip - but not here. On the contrary this is slightly watery and rather light in body. The flavours take a little longer to appear, but then you do get some caramel- slightly burned malt. But still more dry than sweet. An unusual but very nice Dubbel. 280897 yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 12, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden amber with a slowly collapsing light tan head. Fruity and light yeasty aroma. Flavour is mild roasted malt and mild overripe fruit. Goes into a more sharp fruity flavour before the finish. Ends with a light yeasty note and mild bitterness. fiulijn (5860), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jun 22, 2004 Dark amber color; big, thick, creamy head. Not extraordinary, but undoubtly a good Dubbel, with the usual caramel character, nutty; a quite dry mouthfeel.
