Pale amber, scummy head. Soft fruity aroma, quite bland. Pleasant carbonation. Some toffee in the mouth, but mostly a biting noble hop bitterness. On swallowing, a very pleasant gently roasted malt, and some fruity toffiness comes out. After that there is a long bitter tingle. Some gluey esters in the mouth as it warms. Almost mustardy heat too. It was a bit of a gusher, so perhaps the mustard is from bacterial souring? Ober (1226), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands
