chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Apr 27, 2007 Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. I thought this was an excellent, tasty, Best Bitter. Quite deep copper colour. Spicy hops in the aroma, with some resinous touches. Citrus and fruity malt in the flavour. Good balance. Full, quite rich mouthfeel. Not much more I could ask of a Best Bitter.
Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England May 5, 2006 Gravity Cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2006. Sweet malts. Not too much happening here. Slightly rough bitterness. Middle of the road. kook (2035), Perth, Western Australia, Australia May 1, 2006 Cask @ Reading 06: Amber in colour. Nice hoppy grassy notes. Some simple citrus there too. Good malt depth to back it up. harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England May 1, 2006 Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Pale chestnut. I like this bitter. Malty, fruity, good balance, nice mouth feel. Good dry finish. Full, rounded. One of the better bitters at the festival
