Nice golden colour with a decent amount of red highlights. Thin tan head which leaves a lacing with larger bubbles behind. The aroma is pretty sweet and a bit of floral and anise (from fennel) highlights. The taste is a bit mild, but a good balance of hops and malt with the sweetness definately showing through on the palate. A medium-bodied beers with plentiful carbonation. The rating reminded me a bit of Aaron's (argo0) description of the beer...but perhaps the Chesapeake brewery changed the recipe a bit. I bought my 12 ounce bottle at Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia.

Once upon a time (hell, it was less than 4 years ago), this was the "accessible" beer I made available for guests at Kathy's and my wedding (sure as heck wasn't gonna serve BMC). Clear copper body with small beige head. Aroma is sweet floral hoppy with just a hint of grapefruit. Taste is somewhat spicy up front, before the floral hops show up strongly, even too strongly, in the back of the throat, though the resulting bitterness is only moderate. Some chewiness. Since my wedding, this beer has changed brewers, and I can't say with any certainty (whether/how much) the recipe changed. Still, I doubt I'd have used something with this much hops, even without strong bitterness.
