Potsdamer Rex Pils pours to a beautiful, bright, golden color with a bright white head, and vibrant carbonation. The nose on this beer is very nice with aromas of crisp pilsner malt and mild herbal aromas of hops. The palate on this beer is very crisp and clean with excellent pilsner malt flavor. The body on this beer is very round and polished making it a very drinkable beer. Potsdamer Rex Pils finishes with more crisp malt flavor up front, then ends with grassy/herbal hop bitterness to balance this beer out to perfection. This is a very well done German pils with good malt and hop character. It is a wonderful beer to enjoy just drinking, and would match well with a number of dishes. An image of Fredrick the Great, Potsdam’s most famous resident, is proudly featured on the label of Potsdamer Rex Pils, and one can picture Prussian kings drinking this beer. I could picture my great grandfather drinking this beer in Postsdam, and it was a very satisfying feeling for me to be drinking this one in the city of my ancestors

Bottle - malt aroma on the sour side. Bright yellow color with small head and lots of bubbles. Nice malt flavor with only slight hops - no sourness comes out in taste. Good body with nice balanced carbonation.

Draught (30 cl) at Zum Nussbaum, Berlin, Germany. Clear golden, medium white head. Hayish malt aroma with strong herbal hops. Light in body, soft but lively carbonation. Long bitter finish. Hugely underrated, have they made drastical changes in the recipy lately?

It’s golden with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, fruit and flower. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, fruit and the finish is dry and slightly citrussy. It’s pleasant, smooth and yet refreshing and dry.
