| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2006 Updated: Dec 18, 20092009-10-17, draught at Spuyten Duyvil, New York, 5-5-6-3-11=30 Hazy dark amber color; creamy head. It smells a bit of old tap, and yeast. It’s too much carbonated, caramel flavor, a bit woody; the final bitterness is too much for a Belgian Ale. It seems that this beer has suffered.
2006-05-13, bottle, 7-4-6-3-14=34 Dark brown color; thin head. The aroma is malty, with caramel and malt fruitness. The taste has some caramel and a lot of candi sugar, light cookies; the mouthfeel is too thin. Not bad, but they should use more malt and less candi.
