Commercial Description:
The best protected in all the world of beer is that of Kolsch, the golden ale that takes its name from the city of Cologne, Germany. Kolsch is noted for its delicacy. Today's Kolschbier has a conventional gravity and strength of just over 4 percent alcohol by weight. It is very pale and is clean tasting, remarkably light-bodied, soft and drinkable. It is faintly fruity with a slight acidity. We have used less than 10 percent wheat malt in our Kolsch to give added complexity to the fruitiness and to enhance head-retention. Some say Kolsch seems to have the capacity to settle the stomach in advance, as an aperitif.

On tap at the brewpub. Rich gold color with a textbook appearance- poofy white head. Aroma of perfume. True to style aftertaste that becomes bitter only at the finish. Wonderful lacing. A little kolsch with a big body.

Subtlety is the key to this beer. Cloudy, golden body with a neat white head. Only slightly hoppy, this beer says more by saying less.

Very slight hop aroma, practically not there, though. Slight haze, light yellow-golden color. No apparent bubbles at all, slight head, but also some light lacing on the glass. Light-bodied, some light (Pils?) malt flavor, very lightly hoppy finish. Light, light, light. Aftertaste is kinda sweet. This is just a very light beer, not much of anything presents itself here in any quantity. Too bad.
