Jul 5, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear light amber with an off-white head. Medium body. Sweet caramel and almond-like taste. Earthy finish with light bitterness.

Oct 26, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Beautiful dark amber, slightly hazy. Virtually no head or lace. Huge buttery nose. Watery body. Huge butter bomb. Undrinkable.

Aug 11, 2008 Golden amber brew with a thin head. Toasty aroma with some nuttiness and caramel. Flavor is light and toasty with a pleasant bitter finish. Body is a little thin.

Jul 19, 2008 Malty caramel aroma with some herbal hoppiness lingering in the background. Coloring looks just like a penny. Pleasant toffee maltiness that is very quaffable. A perfect session beer with a crisp hop finish.

Aug 26, 2006 Old notes this is from around 2000 or so. Tasted at the brewpub. Red color. Medium head. Aroma is caramelized malts and hoppy. Nice balance of hops to malts. Full Mouthfeel. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Sep 1, 2005 (Draft: Powerhouse Restaurant & Brewery in Puyallup, WA) Nice, toasty maltiness greets the nose for an excellent start to this beer. The impressive toastiness continues on in the flavor, which is also mildly sweet, malty, grainy, and balanced by a mild bitterness. Moderate body, and fairly clean from start to finish. Coppery amber color, totally clear, with an off-white head that again leaves a lot of patchy lacing on the glass as is fades to a small ring. Solid amber that manages to avoid the sweet caramel flavor that tends to dominate most ambers. Nice job.
