Quite yeasty nose with sweet honey and citrus as well. taste of honey, malts and citrus. The taste is fruity but also spiked by spices and high ABV content. Quirky, sharp finish. dec23 (36), Amsterdam, Netherlands

The smell carries a honey note and hints of fresh citrus. The taste is round, malty, honey tinged and smooth. It lingers on the palate but not intensely, just preparing you for more. I never tasted the 11% alcohol. This beer reminds me a lot of the style DeGraal manages to pull off ... brewing strong beers that sneak up on you by their insidious smoothness and soft taste. It was both a sad and a good thing I only had one bottle of Zware Blonde this evening. bierkoning (6094), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Bottle. Orange blonde, cloudy, tiny chunks of yeast. Very soft lemon aroma, surprising for such a strong beer. Malty, alcoholic flavor with lemon. Velvety but also prickly mouthfeel. Clean and absolutely drinkable, but surprisingly low on aroma and flavor.
