jjpm74 (2899), Connecticut, USA May 24, 2008 Pours yellow/gold with a thin white head. Smells perfumy with sime dry hoppy hints and some earthiness. Tastes of apples, caramel, some pepper, hints of spice, touches of bitterness on the finish. Not bad for what it is. Dongster (15), DeKalb, Illinois, USA Jan 18, 2006 Definately the best cervesa style I’ve had (is that saying anything???) Anyway, we drank through a case of this stuff and enjoyed every drop. If you like Corona this should be your new beer as it has a little more body and a fuller taste for the same price. Very enjoyable. DragonStout (1143), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 10, 2005 Updated: Apr 5, 2007Looks like a Red stripe bottle. This wasn’t bad.A few steps above crap.A lager with some body with lots of malt flavors. This was the non imported version. I an writing this is now because as I look back at the rates the one I shared with have a higher rating than the ones purchased in the states.Hmmm, I guess fresh is better. pineypower (863), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Jan 8, 2006 Found this amoung the beer section of a market in St Maarten (Dutch). Saw the gold medal and figured it would be good. Pours out a typical yellowish color. Aroma was not much of anything, maybe some malts here or there. Big white head with a very drinkable taste. Smooth and not harsh like its American counterparts, after I drank this beer I looked at the bottle and exclaimed "Holy Shit, this stuff is from Haiti". I just thought that was pretty cool in and of itself, so that scores a few overall points. matta (1106), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 27, 2006 Thanks to Rater DragonStout for the beer!
Rating # 970
Pours a clear golden body and a tall and rocky white head. the aroma is sweet and corny. Suggestions of lemongrass and a yeasty mild biscuityness in the finish; the palate is better than most Pale Lagers… so props to the Haitians… and the finish has some distinct malts and hop character. No so crappy for a Pale Lager!
