RichardGretton (2678), Leicestershire, England Aug 3, 2008 Bottle@Beers of the World Live (NEC), 2008. Golden beer with a malty aroma and a bitter flavour. Overall an average strong malty beer. Svesse (1811), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 2, 2008 (Bottle at Pivovarsky Klub, Prague, 23 July 2008) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly spicy nose with notes of toffee and sweet malt. Malty, grassy taste with lots of toffee, decent malt sweetness and a good bitterness in the finish. Rather sweet with some alcohol shining through. Firm body. Quite balanced for a pale lager of this strength. Nice one. dEM1972 (51), , Illinois, USA Aug 2, 2008 Golden amber in colour; Hoppy, somewhat nutty aroma, combined with an element of rich maltings; this is carried through to the taste that is both rich and full bodied with the strength and nuttiness that then gives way to a slightly bitter but not too tongue arresting; rich roasted aftertaste with residual bitterness. sir_Pino (589), Zawiercie / Żywiec, Poland Jul 19, 2008 No 320

Bottle brown, 500 ml, 16P
Appearance: Pours orangy golden body with strong visible effervescence probably serving a balance for a higher alcohol content, almost perfectly clear in body texture, but with some slight sediment floating in the body texture. Head is initially rather medium towards small and quickly decreasing to small, rather foamy in texture, not stable, without lacing, white.
Aroma: Sweet malty, rather heavy, a bit metalic, rusty, reminding an aroma of wetness, like wet fur of an animal, slightly orangy, with hints of a mineral nose.
Flavour: First of all alcohol is present, Czech brewers are not the best in Strong Lagers production. In the taste tather mediocre for Polish standards, some accidity and unripe fruits like apple and orange, later on very nice grainy - sweet and crispy flavour on palate with juicy - citrusy lemon hints of nose and some gentle bitterness, binding your palate becoming stronger towards the end. Still to alcoholic, heavy and seeming even harsh together with its vivid carbonation on palate.
Palate: Body is light to medium, texture is wattery with some accidic accents, carbonation is vivid on palate. Finish feel is neutral.
