Quack-Duck (1755), Bodensee, Germany Jul 17, 2008 bottle. Clear pale golden yellow, small white head. Fruity nose. Full-bodied, malty and sweeet, slightly sticky. Fruity background and some hoppy flavours also hover around. An interesting brew, labelled "svetly porter" = pale porter. armando629 (389), Budapest, Hungary Jun 9, 2008 Honey golden color, small head. Liqueric, "sweet" aromaof malt. Sirupy, oily body, sweet flavour, some raisins in the taste. The beer stick my mouth.... Maria (3975), Thisted, Denmark Jan 1, 2008 Dark golden with a moderate head, that leaves a nice lace. The aroma is malty and sweet. The flavour is sweet and the malt is dominating with notes of candy sugar and caramel. The alcohol is evident and the finish has a very low bitterness. Too sweet, too malty and too strong - and IMO to little complexity. tiggmtl (4181), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Dec 17, 2007 Plenty of fruit, sugar and alcohol in the nose. Very hazy, deep golden coloured body is topped by a shy, off white, large bubbled head that recedes rapidly to a partial cover. Flavour offers some toasted and grainy malts, plenty of fruity esters and a jolt of alcohol. All is balanced quite well by very assertive carbonation the keeps the sweetness from becoming sticky or cloying. Medium-full body. Can’t say I’d make this a regular selection if it was readily available but it was worth a try. Bottle (BB 03/04/08, Brewery Creek, Sep-07).
