Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

This wheat had the typical banana/clove aroma but also had a citrus smell that very nice. The color looked as a wheat beer should but the body was thin when drank. Not a bad wheat but not the best.

Tall draft at Aurelio’s Pizza (Frankfort, IL). A Surprising addition to the draft menu at this fantastic pizza place. Poured a nice hazy yellow with a very inviting billowy white head that sticks around and laces. Aromas are very banana, clove, and notes of citrus. Taste is very similar. Refreshing, quenching with a nice more dominant citrusy lemon flavor (Surprising, since I used to consider this a largely banana Hefe). Sweet fruity esters are a bit light, but very enjoyable but aid in the refreshing feel. A very inviting Hefe that is good, but not in the top echelon.

Hazy yellow with aroma of yeast, wheat, sweet malts and banana. Taste of banana, citrus, lemon with a mild hop finish.

Konig Ludwig bottling. Light gold, surprisingly towards clear versus hazy, slight head lasted decently. Aroma was faintly of clove and a touch of banana. Flavor had a grainy wheat quality, some wateriness to it, and very light banana and clove notes. Carbonic bite. Not smooth, the esters were muted. Not particularly good, lacking character. I expected more.

330ml bottle from Country Club Liquors; Nose is yeasty with banana and spiciness; hazy gold with a big yellowish head; flavor is spicy with some banana esters; finish is spicy and slightly bitter.

Fresh cut wheat, very subtle. Lime zest, peach + honey notes. A hint of earthy yeast smell as well. Leathery yeast flavor stands out first, along with the wheat, which seemed very subdued. Fairly sweet, mild citrus character. Some anise and clove/allspice in the finish. Watery palate has a slick texture. Warm gooey finish has a strange + satisfying bitterness that builds as you drink.

Really easy drinking wheat beer. A little lighter in the color (in that it is murky rather than cloudy) than some other hefeweizens. Some citrus on the tongue with a yeasty nose. A very good summer beverage.

(GERMAN) Pours a light golden color with some carbonation and a sm-white head. The aroma is of wheat, banana, clove. The flavor is mild with a spice, clove, taste. The finish is kinda dry but pleasant. Not bad at all, would drink again.
