blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Apr 29, 2008 bottle, big egg whites head, pale orange yellow color, watery flavor of bananas and clove, slight bite on finish of pepper FishManLA (284), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Apr 28, 2008 Updated: Apr 29, 2008Typical cloudy yellow Hefeweisen color. Almost no head. Nose of bananas. Banana taste as well. However, the taste seems watered down. This beer has nowhere near the taste kick that most Hefeweisens do. It’s too bland for a Hefeweisen, almost like it’s trying to lean toward the taste of a pale lager. Slightly tart finish, almost like Smarties candy. dtripp21 (11), USA Apr 22, 2008 Labeled as Konig Ludwig Weissbier; smooth but with a strange, fruity flavor and a spicy kick changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 21, 2008 Labeled as Konig Ludwig Weissbier. Pours a very hazy, dirty orange color with a nice thick head that does settle down kind of quickly. Aroma isn’t bad with yeast, bananas, vanilla, cloves. Much of the same flavor with quite a bit of yeast and a citrusy, vanilla, wheaty flavor. As the case with many hefe’s I’ve had before the finish is rather bland leaving me wanting a little more. Perhaps a touch more spice would do the trick. Still it’s pretty good and definitely a refreshing beer for a warm day. drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 20, 2008 12oz bottle. pours hazy golden big fluffy white head. nose of cloves, banana, wheaty. flavor is wheaty, sourish, citrus, banana. watery. Canadianlush (169), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA Apr 20, 2008 Pours a shady gold with a head that vanishes quick. Hard to tell if its filtered or unfiltered. Aroma of wheat malt, citris and bread. Smooth and sweet it went down well. Finish is short and also sweet. Is there any better beer on a 90 degree day? WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Apr 18, 2008 Pours a cloudy golden color. Head is very thick, but doesn’t stick around long. Sweet aroma with yeast and banana. Sweet flavor with banana and honey. A little too much carbonation and a dry finish. A good beer, but there are better ones out there. djd07 (721), Houston, Texas, USA Apr 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden color with a small white head. The aroma is banana and clove with a bit of spice. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet honey and light malt with a dry finish. A decent Hefe from Konig.
