lithilorn (169), Covilhã, Portugal Jan 11, 2008 Bottle. cloudy dark yellow colour and white head. yeasty aroma with banana and a little malty. yeasty flavor and little carbonation. Medium beer. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Jan 9, 2008 From a bottle--Poured a hazy deep yellow; a tad copper. Fruity, clove and yeast nose. Great wheat creaminess. Decent carbonation. A touch of bubblegum and peaty sugar, but overall, just well built and easy drinkin’. beerlady (443), lucerne, Switzerland Jan 1, 2008 darker yellow with good hazyness
smells yeasty,clovy,some fruit
tasts yeasty,clovy,citrus
creamy carbonation
aftertaste clove and some fruit ,hidden banana
the clove-like taste seems to me to turn ,in the aftertaste ,even into something corriander-like
not so much of that typical banana taste, but has another fruityness and is aromatic Gethinbeer (995), Nova Scotia, Canada Dec 31, 2007 From bottle. Fresh aroma of spice and fruits. Cloudy orange/yellow with a thin white head. Spicy flavour. A little thin. Reminded me of my time in Germany so cant be too bad. Good German Hefeweizen. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Dec 27, 2007 Merely OK. On tap as Konig Ludwig Weisse. Pours cloudy but not as cloudy as many Hefes. Aroma is difficult to rate because the bar I was in was choked with cigarette smoke, making smelling much of anything impossible. Flavor was there, but muted. Nice smooth mouthfeel and finish. Decent, but not better than that. TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands Dec 26, 2007 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy light yellow with a medium white head and a citrus, yeasty smell. Fresh taste, but a bit too plain. Nice Hefeweizen, but not the best. kappldav123 (1790), Markkleeberg, Germany Dec 20, 2007 The yellow labels looks not so good. The beer in the glass is fine. But the beer tastes really stale and insipid. I was disappointed. Not a good beer. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Dec 19, 2007 Bottle… Cloudy, straw-colored ale with a large, frothy, white head that diminishes to a tight, creamy, everlasting sheet. Big-time banana esters play nicely with more subtle phenols of bubblegum, smoke and clove. Spicy, fruity, yeasty flavor delivers on the promises of the aroma… sweet bread, banana and clove with a whisper of smoke. Gentle bitterness. Medium-bodied with a velvety, smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Sweet, fruity, spicy finish.
