Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

500ml bottle as Konig Ludwig Weissbier.
Pours a foggy dirty yellow with a thick white head that disappears. Aroma of wheat yeast and dough. Light spritzy feel. Tastes like bread with a tiny syrupy lemon note. Finishes sweet and sticky with a saltine cracker taste . Nice change from the fruityness of other wheats.

The head is low considering that his is a wheat. The color is light yellow and hazy. The aroma has notes of yeast and wheat and the flavour is sweet with notes of fruit and wheat. I think it’s OK, but not as good as Paulaner, Franziskaner - not to mention my favourite Maisel.

Under the name Konig Ludwig Weisse. On draft. Poured in a proper pils glass-bright yellow and slightly hazy with a small white head. Clovey, wheaty, malty nose. Taste is very wheaty, with lots of carbonation. Light-medium body. Refreshing but not real inspiring.

Under the name Konig Ludwig Weissbier. Pours a clear yellow color with a smallish white head that dissipates pretty quick. Most of the smell I’m getting off this is like, cooked corn or steamed vegetables with a faint hop backing. Flavor is bland. A little bit of fruitiness which is pretty nice, but the aftertaste is sort of metallic and again, cooked corn. Mouthfeel is very bland. Not too too thin, but hardly any carbonation at all.

Pours orange/yellow with a large white susdsy head. Sweet aroma of wheat and apples... wait nope Oakes is right...it smells of pears. Modest flavors of banana, sourdough, and something slightly acidic like pears. Strong clove finish. Fluffy palate...lightly but smoothly carbonated. Its quite good...but just a tad off...

I’m really not too big on the look of the floaties in this one. Actually, they do not float, but quickly sink to the bottom of the glass. Hmmm...Hazy golden-hued body. Barely any head at all. Interesting sweet aroma - honey and wheat with lots of fruit. The flavor isn’t so sweet at all, but its pretty decent. Delicate floral notes. Chewy mouthfeel.
