Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

I’m really not too big on the look of the floaties in this one. Actually, they do not float, but quickly sink to the bottom of the glass. Hmmm...Hazy golden-hued body. Barely any head at all. Interesting sweet aroma - honey and wheat with lots of fruit. The flavor isn’t so sweet at all, but its pretty decent. Delicate floral notes. Chewy mouthfeel.

Sure, it isn’t exactly hefe weather, but sometimes you just need a hefe, and I’ve never had this one, so what the hell? - fizzy, cloudy yellow beer, with minimal head, and huge, chunky floaties that are so dense that they rapidly sink to the bottom on the glass - not very attractive - bright, fruity aroma, with notes of honey, tangerine, and apricot, along with a mild acidity, and a musty, earthy character - it’s got a nice spicy dry flavor at first, followed by a medium honey sweetness, and loads of floral character - fruity notes of apple, orange, peach, but no banana at all (a welcome change from most hefes) - a mild acidity keeps thing lively, and compliments the fruitiness - this beer may not look like much, but it’s pretty tasty.

Keg (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Oktoberfest 2004) Classic Hefeweizen appearance, but a bit thin on the head. Gentle citrus/corriander aroma. Taste is oh-so-sweet, banana and caramel.

On tap at Collins. Bright, cloudy yellow. Small head. Banana aroma and taste with just a little bit of citrus. A bit of hops in the finish.

A pretty damn good Hefe. 12oz bottle BevMo Carmel. Pours a deep, hazy gold. Nose of yeast, citrus and banana. Refreashing.....clean on the palet.

Bright golden color. Light aroma of bread and yeast. Taste the wheat, big time. Clean, fresh finish. OK weiss.

Little to no complexity, which is refreshing from time to time. Apple-like and medium-bodied. Hint of banana.
