Prinzregent Luitpold Weissbier Hell

My favorite weiss beer. Simple but the perfect blend of aroma and flavor. Not the most complex weiss beers but certainly a tremndous brew with strong flavors.

Pint at the Abbot on the Hill. Cloudy burnished gold under a frothy white head. Typical wheat beer aroma of banana and clove. Aroma is carried through into the taste. Nicely balanced and refreshing. One to have again.

Sampled at the Odds and Ends Tasting II on 10/19/07: This brew is a hazy yellowish color with a medium and foamy white head that diminshes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, clove and fruit. Light-bodied with sweet grainy malt and honey flavors offset by mild spices and hops. The finish is yeasty with a light spice finish. Above average overall.

Sampled as Konig Ludwig @ GDBTF. pours a cloudy amber with good, retained head. Nose of straw, light citrus. Peppery on the palate, smooth body, cloves towards the yeasty finish. An interesting take on the style.

Bottle Konig Ludwig. Pours cloudy with a white head. Flavor is slightly less banana than many hefes, but more spiciness. This is the beer that turned my Fiancee on to beer beyond Miller Lite. It is flavorful enough for me to enjoy with her.

Single 11.2 oz bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville, FL. Expiration on back of bottle says 29 APR 2008. Sweet. German beer to the rescue please! One odd note, the bottle is embossed with "Warsteiner Premium Qualitat aus Deutschland". Pours a cloudy gold color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is yeast and malt. Taste is all about the hefeweizen, a touch of wheat and banana like qualities. Nice beer.

Pale hazy golden look with a white creamy head. Aroma is decent spicey and citric. Flavor is rather bitter and acidic for a wheat, with only a minor actual wheat flavor. All in all ok though.

Good color, cloudy amber with a medium white head. Not too much of an aroma, but excellent flavor. Finishes with a hint of apple.
