Rune (2744), Tromsø, Norway Oct 2, 2007 500ml botlle as König Ludwig Weissbier Hell. Hazy, orange body colour under a fast fading head. Weak weissen aroma of cloves and wheat. Light taste of vanilla sweetness mixed with a spicy touch. Yeast and hints of fruit in a short finish. Oily and thin mouthfeel (Trier, 14.09.2007). jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Sep 26, 2007 From a bottle poured nice amber color with lots of fluffy white head. Nice sweet fruity flavor. Hammster (187), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Sep 21, 2007 I was very happy to see a beer under the name of Konig Ludwig. Not since I was in Germany in 2001 since I’d seen this brand. Last time I had it I had Konig Ludwig dark while on vacation in the Harz Mountains with a family that took in exchange students. Ahhh...the memories. On to my comments. Bottle. Poured a muddy blonde with lots of visible sediment and a large head. Sweet nose with strong citrus and even stronger yeast aromas. A little mild on the taste--some citrus and wheat but not as punctuated as much citrus as I like in a hefe. Finish is a mild citrus. Overall, a very good beer though. One that I’d be happy to drink again. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Sep 20, 2007 9/20/2007: König Ludwig Weissbier pours a pale yellow color and has an unfiltered appearance (cloudy). The head is white in color, quite dense, long-lasting, and leaves a good amount of lasting lacing on the glass. The aroma has cloves and weak banana with some yeasty undertones. The flavor is is light and refreshing with a combination of typical hefe flavors (clove and banana), lemony citrus, and some wheat malt. This beer is soft and smooth on the palate and is light to medium-light in body. Overall this beer has a nice balance and isn’t too strong. This is good cross-over or first beer for those wanting to try German Hefe/Weiss beers. This beer would also be a great traditional hefe to drink on a hot and humid Summer day.

jujubeast6000 (768), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 17, 2007 Updated: Jul 10, 2008(bottle 26Nov2008): Pours a cloudy yellow body. Creamish head, average sized head, lasting. Fresh bananay aroma, effervescentish. Banana taste, somewhat flowery. Fizzy. SSSteve (2045), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 16, 2007 Updated: Aug 1, 2009murky dark gold with a large creamy white head. banana, clove aroma with some citrus. light bodied. flavor has some banana and clove notes but somewhat bland. highly carbonated. on tap this beer seems much more full bodied and creamier. kimcgolf (822), Dacula, Georgia, USA Sep 9, 2007 Had this in a bottle as Konig Ludwig Weissbier. Poured to a hazy lemon-yellow with a tint of orange, and a nice medium head that lingered long and left good lacing. Nose was a very pleasant and strong mix of ornages, cookie dough and clove, and the mouthfeel full and tingly. Flavor was a mild hop, again predominantly cookie dough, clove and orange, with just a hint of bubblegum at mid-glass.
A very pleasant and tasty beer with a long satisfying finish. Perfect for a hot summer day.
