Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Perfect on a hot steamy day. On draft at Max’s. Bananas and clove and just far to easy to drink!

From a 11.2 oz. slender bottle, a freshness date on the back label, sampled at cellar temperature in a weizen glass. I swirled the last third in the bottle before finishing the pour. Poured a cloudy orangey dull golden with a foamy, creamy white head, decent retention, settled into a thin sudsy lacing. Aromas of lemon, clove, lightly spicy, yeast and wheat malty. Good carbonation and malty crisp, dry, creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Tastes of sweet, juicy wheaty malts, a little banana bubble gum and clove spiciness, earthy yeast, a sour lemony bitterness, a slight taste of alcohol at the end, and a dry yeasty, malty finish. A really nice hefeweizen, easy and smooth to drink, can always be found in the singles/mix-a-six racks at a couple of liquor stores in my area, well worth trying if like the hefeweizen style.

Bottle. Has a nice gold appearance. Has very pleasant "round" taste, which makes it very easy to drink. I’d definitely drink it again.

12 oz bottle. No date code found.

Hazy golden yellow with a thick fluffy lasting head.

Lemony citrus aroma with some tart wheat and light clove and banana.

Banana is dominant in the flavor with nice spicy clove and dry wheat in the background.

I got a 6pk of this for $3.99, so I wasn’t expecting much. Excellent!

Pours a nice yellow gold into the glass with a relatively small white head. The aroma is consistent with most hefeweizen’s with real nice spiciness to it. The flavor is very clean and very safe. What I mean by that is that it may have lost some of its intended punch on the long trip from Germany to the US. Even so, this is a really nice hefe.

Bottle from State Line. Turbid deep gold pour with 2-finger whitish head. Aroma of intense hopcitrus, clovey spice, and pale malt. The taste was spicy, with a pronounced clovey hit, plus malty, with finishing floral, citric, and hop notes. This one is decent.

Konig Ludwig Weis Bottle. Cloudy pour with massive white foam head that last a while. Clove spice aroma. Mouthfeel was watery to the point of being flat & skunky. Flavor typical hefe spices. Nice sweet lingering cinnamon & clove aftertaste. All in all, I enjoyed it and would drink it again.
