Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

As König Ludwig Weisse, from tap. Text book weizen, it’s all there and no surprises. Banana, pretty average yeastiness. Very sparkling carb!

Bottle, Dodgy Deli, Oxford. Pale hazy gold, smallish layer of white foam. Pleasant clove accented honey aroma. Gently spritzy yeastiness, clean wholesome bread, just a little tart nip in the finish. Restrained, refreshing, and very good.

The waiter quirky waiter described it as "Kinda like St. Pauli Girl, you’ve had St. Pauli Girl right?... I think its from Belgium" "Sure I’ll have that." 12 oz bottle from Ande’s Restaurant Chicago drank on the patio on a warm evening, perfectly refreshing. Poured hazy and orange in a small hefe glass with the König Ludwig Weiss logo. Yeasty nose banana wheat similar flavors. Creamy wheat like a hefe should be. Tasty and refreshing.

Bottled as König Ludwig Hell. A fine hefe, refreshing lemon, wheat grain and yeast. The Bavarian weisse beers are amazing in the way you feel the echoes of the raw materials in the aroma of the beer.

On tap at the Taphouse in Hampton. Pours cloudy gold with a lacy white head. Aroma of bananas and grain, maybe a hint of corn. Mild flavor with a bit of clove. Balanced finish that makes me want more. Very good hefeweizen.

On tap at BeerBistro. Pours a nice cloudy amber-gold. Aroma is full and grainy, almost like fresh corn? Taste is very mild, as is the finish. Overall, a nice, light, summer beer, but nothing special.
