Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

As Konig Ludwig Weiss. Aroma of banana, a bit of yeast, and something of pilsener hop. Cloudy gold color with a ferocious white head that does a little lacing. Starts with medium body, banana, more banana, then yeast and some spice. More than clove. The carbonation renders it nearly chewy. Then it thins, and the finish is clovy spice, in a light way, followed by watery banana, and maybe a bit of hop. Very unbitter finish. Very good ale. Real ale by the way.

Va BF 07 Draft: Lemon and marshamallow aroma. Cloudy golden color, no head. Bubble gum and molasses flavor, no finish. Quite enjoyable.

Konig Ludwig Weissbier; nice label and cap. Pours a dark hazy yellow with a huge, frothy, white head and excellent lacing. The aroma is a yeasty citrus and grass with a light bubble gum note in the background. Thin to medium-bodied with average carbonation and a clean finish. The flavor is citrus, bubble gum and bananas with a crisp wheat finish. This is one of the best hefe’s I’ve ever tried--a must try for anyone that likes wheats.

Bottle. Nice cloudy lemon color. Great aroma of bananas and bubblegum. Frothy head that stayed until the end. This is a pretty good all-arouind weissbier. I liked it a lot.

Bottle. Cloudy golden pour. Nice aroma, mouthfeel seems a little thinner than most Hefes. Nice refreshing taste, but pretty much standard fare. I have really come to love this style but prefer a Franziskaner, Paulaner, or Weihenstephaner.
