Aroma was citrus, clove, yeast, banana, wheat. Light to medium bodied with an average carbonation. Falours of lemon and applesauce. Farily lite front with citrus finish. Decent example of the style, but not a seesion beer. Appetising citrussy lemon snout, with a touch of vinous wood. Crisp, slightly sour, slightly boozy wheatiness with a touch of bitterness in the finish. None of the big fruity bubblegum flavours of Paulaner etc. Lovely creamy-wheaty afters.Quality beverage. bigcat03 (191), Lincoln, Nebraska, USA Feb 28, 2007 Updated: Mar 2, 2007Bottle marked Konig Ludwig Weiss from St. Joe Hy-Vee poured into weizen - Pours clear gold with a big frothy white head; Lots of lemon, malt, wheat and bread to the nose; Lemon, sweet malt, wheat, clove, CO2, and a little lemon tart at the end on the initial taste; Bread, clove, and citrus aftertaste; Watery side of medium body; Nice carbonation; Love the Konig Ludwig name. Had a horrible first pour, but the second was much better. Run of the mill weiss with an awesome name, especially if you’re into the music if Richard Wagner. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Feb 26, 2007 Bottle. Pours very hazy gold, white head. Aroma is smoky, musty, wheat, banana, clove, apple, sausage. Flavor is wheat, banana, potato, slightly smoky, citrus. A little too watery.
