Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Draught. Mellow honey-wheat-clove aroma. Hazy honey colour. Taste bitter, yeast? Some hops and flowers in the finish. Re-rate at the "Yeah! Beer field trip in Köln."

Draught, a dark cloudy orange with a large white rocky chead. Wheat yeast and spice (corriander & cloves) in the aroma. Orange and spice in the flavour. Good.

Bottle. Cloudy orange glow hue with an average foamy white head. Pretty regular Hefeweizen, not bad but nothing spectacular. Aroma was citrus, clove, yeast, banana, wheat. Light to medium bodied with an average carbonation. Flavor is light sweet with some bitterness; especially the finish is citrus and light bitter notes.

Wheaty, lemon aroma. Coudly gold with lite white head. Falours of lemon and applesauce. Farily lite front with citrus finish. Decent example of the style, but not a seesion beer.

Import from Dusseldorf trip. Apricot-hued weizen heaped with creamy foam. Silky and swimming with bits. Appetising citrussy lemon snout, with a touch of vinous wood. Crisp, slightly sour, slightly boozy wheatiness with a touch of bitterness in the finish. None of the big fruity bubblegum flavours of Paulaner etc. Lovely creamy-wheaty afters.Quality beverage.

Bottle marked Konig Ludwig Weiss from St. Joe Hy-Vee poured into weizen - Pours clear gold with a big frothy white head; Lots of lemon, malt, wheat and bread to the nose; Lemon, sweet malt, wheat, clove, CO2, and a little lemon tart at the end on the initial taste; Bread, clove, and citrus aftertaste; Watery side of medium body; Nice carbonation; Love the Konig Ludwig name. Had a horrible first pour, but the second was much better. Run of the mill weiss with an awesome name, especially if you’re into the music if Richard Wagner.
