Good lemon citrus aroma with a nice balance of yeast, and a touch of pepper. No noticible hops are present as would be expected. A cloudy golden color, with a nice lasting white head. but only minimal lacing. Taste is slightly bitter at the finish, a bit of fruit at the begining. Quite light almost watery. Makes for easy drinking. Fairly light palate, but pretty strong carbonation, Not too bad. Not a bad beer, there are definately better hefes out there, still haven’t found a match for weihenstephaner. But easy drinking. Ron (1002), Rochester, New York, USA Aug 31, 2006 One bottle of König Ludwig Weiss from BOTW. Poured a large head. Usual citrus aroma with wheat, hops and yeast. Fullbodied wheat flavor. Decent beer. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 23, 2006 Updated: Aug 24, 2006Draught. At Smokeless Joe, as "Konig Weiss". Cloudy somewhat pale orange, large and lasting creamy-foamy white head. Pleasant fruity sweet malt aroma, not too much banana, light lemon and dry hops, some sharp peppery yeast that began to dominate as it warmed. The taste is a little bland and watery, definite wheat character, the fruit sweetness fades quickly - won’t make me forget the Denison’s any time soon, but quenching on a hot day on the patio. Surprisingly solid body considering the watery palate, not too sweet, lightly syrupy with a very quick finish - ever so slightly bitter aftertaste from the yeast. Decent. MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2006 On tap at Chaucer’s Pub in London, Ontario- Pours classic hazy yellow, with a creamy white foam. Head has excellent life. Aromas are orange creamsicle, banana, yeasty esters,, floral spices. Flavours of spicy cirtus, banana, yeast, cream. Very nice and refreshing fruit/yeast finish. Good. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Aug 9, 2006 Bottle on an ICE. Head is lacy and foamy white, strong carbonation in a cloudy yellow. Aroma is heavy wheat, some yeast, clove, strong citrus, and even coriander, which is a really surprising tone for Kaltenberg. Taste is strongly wheaty, big carbonation, tingly mouthfeel, little else (kinda bland). pivnizub (4951), Bochum, Porúří, Germany Jul 30, 2006 Bottle: Hazy, almost cloudy, huge off-white head, slowly diminishing, golden coloured; fresh fruity nose (lemons, summer fruit), bananas+cloves+yeast in the wings; fizzy mouthfeel, a bit sticky, sweetish flavour, quite full bodied; short, sweet-fruity, a bit yeasty-bitter finish. A well rounded, decent Bavarian Weizen without too much edges.......
