skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 16, 2006 This bottle came in under the name of "Konig Ludwig Weiss, Royal Bavarian Hefe-Weizen". It came in a beautiful six-pack from Whole Foods. The casing has this enormous castle on it. Poured a semi-cloudy and yellowish color. At first taste came a strong sense of lemon that moved into more of a honey finish. I’m not a huge Hefe-Weizen fan, but this was definitely tasty! DJMonarch (6036), Northwich, Cheshire, England Mar 10, 2006 Updated: Jul 31, 20071. Very hoppy and floral aroma. Some carbonation. Golden coloured crisp and hoppy with a little bitterness and dryness in the finish. pjcoupe (105), Perryton, Texas, USA Feb 4, 2006 Nasty smell, nasty flavor, awful aftertatste.Prickly in the throat especially first pull.Burnt grass flavor and also nasty flavor of a rogue bacteria loose in a unsanitized batch of homebrew. Will turn your stomach upside down. GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Jan 31, 2006 Updated: Mar 10, 2007Pours a lemon honey color w/ a medium sized, semi creamy froth that slowly reduces to full lacing. Aroma is bright w/ musty boot leather. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. A slightly earthy style weissbier with mellow citrus rind fruit and a smooth finish. Well ballanced yet beholding a complexity not found in most hefeweizen brews. I really like the pronounced leathery aroma and flavor. Reminds me of wet bird feathers. PerfectIy carbonated, good hang time. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Jan 23, 2006 Bottled (as König Ludwig Weissbier). Hazy orange colour, big white head. Typical weissbier nose with fruits, wheat and yeast. Same in flavour. Not too sweet though, and wellbalanced. Long yeasty aftertaste. Pleasant Hefeweizen. stouby (1932), Holbaek, Denmark Jan 22, 2006 Bottle, at Benny.
Light yellow with a white head, quickly gone, no lacings, unfiltered. Aroma light malty, yeasty and hoppy. Flavor light sweet and acidic/yeasty. Light body, watery, soft carbonated.
