Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Cloudy yellow colour with thin white head. Stale bread nose. Slight bread taste with dry bread finish.

(bottle) Hazy yellow colour with a big rocky, slowly lacing foam. Fruity (apricot, banana) and yeasty aroma with a touch of cloves. Slight sweet flavour, light to medium body. Malty and yeasty taste with a subtle banana fruitiness and a clove-spicy and slight citrus-fruity finish of medium length. Aromatic and solid thirst quencher with decent character, that only lacks a bit body.

Only one white beer Tht I don’t like. Lemon in aroma and excessive acidity. L’unica birra bianca a non piacermi. Limone in aroma e una eccessiva acidità.

From the bottle, a head that starts out big, then falls with lace on the glass. Banana and clove aroma and flavors. Good yeasty nose. Nice champagne like carbonation. Tingly. In my area it’s under the Konig Ludwig label. Free glass with purchase. Good summer thirst quencher.

Has the basic Hefeweizen malty-banana aroma and flavor. An ok Hefe but for an Old Country import it’s rather simplistic, with few nuances. One thing is that the carbonation is excellent (lots of tiny bubbles) and the finish is especially soft.

Well, i had a konig ludwig and i guess this is supposed to be the same beer. Anyways, this was surprisingly good. It has a really soft texture, almost creamy. Subtle bananas and spice. A lot better than I was expecting.

Pours a typical hefe color light and hazy. The aroma is not typical though, the banana, cloves and bubblegum are distant and somewhat weak. Has a spicey wheaty appeal in the flavor. Tame and a little bland. A decent summer thirst quencher.
