Wheaty smell. Not too overwhelming. It had a huge head when poured which lasted all of 2 seconds. But it is a white beer afterall. The taste is smooth and very banana-ey which I’ve always loved about this beer. The banana lingers in the aftertaste which is one of this beer’s greatest assets. ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden May 11, 2005 (Labelled as König Ludwig Weissbier) Cloudy orange/yellow colour with a large fluffy white head. Banana and wheat in aroma with distinct souishr undertone. Soft sticky wheat flavour with light banana esters. Cloves and banana in the aftertaste. gulf690 (21), Australia May 9, 2005 Bottle. Pours a fair head of cloudy white, with a nose of cloves and wheat dust. Tastes a little grassy, a little bitter and a little sour, though surprisingly these all seem to come into balance. A full and firm mouthfeel, with a lingering though partly tart after taste. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA May 6, 2005 From notes taken at the Southwest Beer Festival in Scottsdale, Arizona. The conditions were hard to take notes in but these are the ratings and they stand. Was sampled in a bottle at the Warsteiner tent, and Oakes said this was the same stuff. Pours a very slightly cloudy yellow. Not much of a weis style aroma. Flavor is sour citrus, some yeast. Light and fizzy. A lousy wheat. richlikebeer (823), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 17, 2005 typically sweet aroma on a cloudy unfiltered yellow body with a foamy white head. citrusy backbone with spices on the front and a cinnamon tasting tail. thought the body was a little thin, but the beer was very crisp on the palate and highly drinkable. Falconseye8 (525), Cartersville, Georgia, USA Apr 13, 2005 Very much a Hefe!!! Cinnamon, spicy, smooth and drinkable, this is a very nice Hefeweizen. Never had this one before. Its good and I really liked it. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Apr 13, 2005 Had this on tap at The Blind Pig, Champaign, IL. Cloudy amber with a weak off-white head. Aroma of wheat and malt sweetness and some spices but all was faint and unimpressive. Thin bodied and watery texture. Flavor was watered down, wheaty, slightly sweet. Rather boring. Disappointing.
Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Apr 3, 2005 Excellent weissbier, highly impressed by this, easly drunk. A smooth cardamon flavour that cna be had at any time. One to try again.
Also particularly nice bottle "Konig Ludwig".
