yayforbeer (641), Orange Park, Florida, USA Apr 2, 2005 11.2oz bottle labeled as "Konig Ludwig" Poured nice hazy straw yellow with long lasting white head. Pleasant but faint aroma typical of a hefe. Taste was also that of a typical hefe, but very soft, smooth, and mild. No off flavors, just enjoyable and highly drinkable, plus an extra point for being cheap.. :) $7.50 for a sixer. GarethYoung (1110), Glasgow, Scotland Apr 1, 2005 Updated: Apr 3, 2005pours a murky yellow colour with a thick fluffy head which lasts. aromas are banana, cobwebs, tulips and the slightest notes of vanilla. smooth in the mouth and a refreshing crisp, lemony bite in the finish. Ill always have fond memories of this beer, its what got me into craft beers :) henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA Mar 25, 2005 This bottle poured a beautiful crystal clear golden yellow color with a nice white medium head. The head lasted quite long leaving nice lacing on the edge of the glass. The aroma is primarily sweet honey and malt with notes of sour yeast, citrus, banana and spices. The texture is smooth and the flavor is bready with slight wheat beer sourness. The finish is crisp and dry. punkeedo (465), San Antonio, Texas, USA Mar 22, 2005 A pukish aroma, with a typical pale ale appearance. This beer tasted sour and skunky. Very miserable altogether. ElJefe (553), Rochester, New York, USA Mar 6, 2005 Pale yellow with adequate white head. Aroma is spicy, with vanilla and banana notes. Thin bodied and weak. Unpleasant finish. There are MUCH better Hefeweizens out there. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Feb 27, 2005 Shiny yellow with a creamy head. Orange-gristy with a strong yeast presence. Classic weizen character in a light way. highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia Feb 18, 2005 Spritzy, strong German hefeweizen. Bottle-conditioned, so it poured a murky golden colour with a brief white head and plenty of sedimentation. Classic banana wheat beer nose with a hint of bicarbonate of soda. Palate is light and spritzy despite the 5.5% alcohol. Biscuity notes, some malt and nuts. Nice dry finish. Easy drinking. (Bottle, sold in Australia as Konig Ludwig Weissbier)
