Cirrhosis (607), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 3, 2009 This looks like your typical Hefe cloudy golden honey body with a quarter inch of thick creamy head nothing to special about it. The smell how ever is killer, chalky banana accented with lemon no scratch that its jolly rancher sour pineapple, its even the perfect strength not weak and not over powering, great smell I just keep sniffing it I can’t get enough. Dammit!!! beer taste like crap, very very watery feel to it and not smooth like a hefe should be. Very week wheat malt flavor and the banana clove dosn’t really show up until the after taste. None of the fantastic smell was carried forward into the taste how is that even possible, there is a pool water flavor to this beer, bleach maybe?!?!?!? what ever it is its killing the malt flavor. Very disappointing hefe, one of the worst I’v ever had, not the worst but very close to it, and yet this is still drinkable. chrisv10 (335), Denmark May 31, 2009 50 cl bottle poured into a weizen glass. Hazy yellow with a thick foamy white head. Classic Hefeweizen but low on flavour. delnoche (210), Germany May 24, 2009 50cl bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours hazy yellow with a ton of fluffy white head. Nose is bananas, yeast, citrus. Falvor is banana bread. Typical weizen. rosenbergh (843), Helsinki, Finland May 21, 2009 500 ml bottle. As König Ludwig Weissbier Hell. From Germany.
Pale hazy yellow/orange colour with massive white head. Aroma is fruits (banana/citrus), wheat and yeast. Malty, wheaty flavour with some hints of citrus and banana. Not very sweet, more like dry but slightly watery and thin. Diogène (543), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada May 18, 2009 Bottle. Hazy yellow with a thick foamy white head whit excellent retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is wheat, bread, banana, and esters, Flavor is a little dryer than expected, similar to the aroma with wheat, raw wheat, banana, and a hint of citrus. Body is a little thin for my liking of this style. Very drinkable. sdk (33), Island Bay, New Zealand May 9, 2009 500ml bottle. Pours a light gold with a nice head that hangs around. Fruity yeasty nose with a citrus feel.A little disapointing in the mouth feel and flavor. For such a good aroma I was expecting a lot more. Almost a straw like flavour rather than the citrus yeast i was expecting. Not much of an after taste to speak of either. Not the worst but could have been a lot better. fidelis83 (707), Clinton, Iowa, USA May 4, 2009 12oz. bottle labeled Konig Ludwig Weissbier. Pours very murky pale gold with a 1-2 finger creamy white head that has good retention. Aroma is lots of raw yeast, lemon, sweet grain, yeasty dough, a decent amount of spice, just a hint of bubble gum, banana nut bread, a little vanilla and some orange blossom. Flavor is lots of sweet grain, sweet floral, sweet wheat, lemon poppyseed bread, hints of pepper, and some orange. Finish is yeast and citrus. Palate is thin and slightly syrupy with a carbonation a little too low for its massively sweet flavor. Overall this stuff was just too sweet with little to balance it out. gunnar (486), Sandnes, Norway Apr 30, 2009 Bottle.Pours very light yellow, hazy with a moderate white head,. sweet flowery aroma, watery mouthfeel, sweet taste, spritzy at the end.
