Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA Dec 29, 2004 The beer dispenses from the 330ml brown bottle a limpid gold and after decanting the beer pours, a beclouded yellow gold with the head is bright, white and creamy in texture, size is modest and after its desiccation, the lace forms a thin coating upon the glass. Nose has a bit of yeast and is backed up by sweet malt, crisp and clean, start is slightly sweet with a decent grain profile and the top light. Finish is mild in its acidity, the hops sparing in their spiciness, dry aftertaste lingers long, a drinkable beer, and one for those days when a heavy beer will not do. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Dec 28, 2004 Hmm, interesting. Yup, its a wheatbeer. Whats the deal with that? Do people really enjoy this style? Well, I dont and I think thats why I dont have too much to say about this one.Had it on tap at the blind pig in champaign Illinois, they use its other name, Konig Ludwig Weiss. LiebeBier (788), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Dec 24, 2004 Draft under the name Konig Ludwig - A great Weiss beer. This beer was excellent with a yeast, wheat, sweet flavor without that typical old wheat aftertaste. Could have drinken all day long. Great with or without a meal. steview (901), Los Angeles, California, USA Dec 24, 2004 Updated: Dec 25, 2004bottled as Konig Ludwig at Bob Chin’s in Wheeling, IL / darkish yellow, not cloudy, airy white head that dissipitated rather quickly. sweet, light, typical... then a good lemony flavor dominates this brew. it’s refreshing and it went very well with my tuna sashimi. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Dec 21, 2004 Bottle - 500ml. Hazy golden color. Its thick foamy head tends to dissipate quickly. Nice yeasty, fruity and spicy aroma. Taste is quite decent but lacks complexity. Dominated by yeasty flavors. Acceptable citrusy finish. Good Hefeweizen, but not among the best. empiman (21), shawnee, Oklahoma, USA Dec 21, 2004 Golden cloudy appearance, initial smell hinted of honey, maybe banana like. Thick head dissapated quickly, Initial taste hit me with something; can’t put a finger on it. Not bad after that, no bitter aftertaste. Tasted Koening Ludwig Bottle, not Luitpold. Altogether a nice beer. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain Dec 15, 2004 Hazy muted yellow with thick white head. Strange honey banana nose that reminds me of a young mead. Med weight with creamy mouthfeel and sweetish finish. Creamy vanilla, banana, and light spice round out the flavors. Not bad but a bit too candy-ish for me. Lubiere (4464), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 13, 2004 Hazy gold with a nice dense white head. Spicey banan aroma. Sweet banama aroma and light vanilla . Creamy mouthfeel and pleasant. Thanks to Piscator. (Sept. 2004)
