Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Koenig Ludwig Weissbier bottle. Pours hazy lemon flesh with a small foamy white head and has spotty falling lacing. Sweet wheat aroma with a banana malt nose. Sweet wheat and hoppy banana flavor. Spicy and crisp light bodied refreshing palate.

Bottled as König Ludwig Hell. A fine hefe, refreshing lemon, wheat grain and yeast. The Bavarian weisse beers are amazing in the way you feel the echoes of the raw materials in the aroma of the beer.

Poured a medium size white head that did not last long. It was yellow in body. It had a fruity aroma. The appearance was cloudy. I did not feel that there was much flavor or character in this particular German Wheat. I like this style of brew very much, but this one just did not quite cut it.

Great beer! Smooth wheat with almost a hint of lemon or other fruit in it. Classic cloudy blond. Very refreshing as most great wheats are. Would recommend to anyone.

Pale orange beer with a good long lasting head. The aroma is mainly citric and lacking in diversity, and the flavour is generally one dimensional (watery, weak citrus flavour). A good beer but lacks the character of better wheat beers.

Rerate 9/18/03 - Tasted a bit more artificial this time - especially in the aftertaste. Original rating 3.6 - Sweet, fruity, bubblegum aroma to it, cloudy, hazy light pale appearance. Thin white head with a bit of lacing. Very smooth tasting, clean - easy on the palate. Just a tad above par for a German Wheat.

Light brown and cloudy colored. Big white head vanished fastly. Strong yeast aroma with some fruits too. Full bodied and creamy palate. Flavor starts with strong carbonation bite, ends with yeasty, banana and somehow skunky aftertaste. Basic weissbier, full body is nice but mild skunkiness in the end distracts little bit.
