This had a nice fizz to it - I mean that in the best possible way - a refreshing, bright fizz with some mellow herbal touches. not bad at all. will get some more of this in the summer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 3, 2004 Cloudy golden body is topped by an excellent white creamy head. The head lingers, but I’m a slow drinker, so it eventually fades. The aroma is strong, more cloves than some, but the banana is there. The flavor is a bit more dry than some, and more herbally and the finish is a little more bitter than most. Still, something’s lacking from the body of the flavor that keeps it from being one of the better hefeweizens. Boutip (2363), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dirty beige color weizen with a huge foamy pure white head with good retention and some minimal lacing. Aroma of banana and cloves is too subtle for style. Taste is a mix between some medium wheat malt with traces of banana and cloves esters. Something resembling smoke is also noticeable but out of place within the style. Full body with limited filtration with some good carbonation. Not as clean and ester are a bit off but still enjoyable.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2006 Poured with some head, but nothing ridiculous. The aroma was strikingly strong, bananas, spices, citrus all coming through strong. In the flavor, bananas and spices were strongest, although this one could have been a bit richer. A very good beer, and an above average hefe, but not the best of the hefe group. Would drink again, no doubt. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2004 Poured deep cloudy yellow with nice white head...aroma was all bananas and cinnamon and nutmeg...taste was much the same, as you would expect from a Hefe...tasted a lot better than I anticipated...wheat and yeast and bananas, but a little sweeter...really reminded me of my great grandmother’s banana pudding...I don’t like Hefes, but something about this made me nostalgic...so it does get a 5 for palate! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2003 (500 ml bottle, under its alias König Ludwig Weissbier). Cloudy blond colour, large head. Lovely aroma of ripe bananas and cloves. Light bodied, some cloves in the flavour, refreshing. Like most weissbiers a short aftertaste, but what there is, is good.
