Typical weiss aroma with notes of banana with a mild splash of clove. Transparent golden color with a decent small white head. Start is nice and sweet with bananas and cloves. Middle is nice and milky. Finishes with a twinge of carbonation. A nice, run of the mill Hefe that was only $5.50 for a 6er. I’d buy this again. GonZoBeeR (2161), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2004 Updated: Jul 30, 2006Aroma is hay, dry grass and grains. Body is a light hay colored yellow and holds a firm and lasting two finger thick creamy white head. Fore is creamy bannana, yeasty, wheat flakes and sweet cream. That flavor profile carries into a slightly more bitter (though not bitter by American standards) finish. I’ve always liked this Hefe and I still do. EithCubes (2146), Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 9, 2006 Bottle on an ICE. Head is lacy and foamy white, strong carbonation in a cloudy yellow. Aroma is heavy wheat, some yeast, clove, strong citrus, and even coriander, which is a really surprising tone for Kaltenberg. Taste is strongly wheaty, big carbonation, tingly mouthfeel, little else (kinda bland). blutt59 (2114), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2006 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden body with a large fluffy white head. The aroma is peppery with clove notes and only a touch of banana fruitiness but I’d say it’s more spicy than anything. Soapy mouthfeel and there are flavours of bubblegum. Spicy notes are prevalent here again along with some lemon tartness in the finish. Pretty decent overall.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 21, 2003 Cloudy yellow with a whipped egg white head out of the bottle. Sweet, thin nose and very soft mouthfeel. Traditional German wheat beer banana/clove spice flavor. Exactly what I expected from a German wheat and nothing more.
