Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle. Label says Konig Ludwig Weiss. Pours a light amber color with some floaters and a medium sized white head. The scent is wheaty and yeasty. The flavor is slightly sour wheat. A light toasted flavor lingers. There is a slightly "off" taste I can not identify. Pleasant but in general an uninspiring hefeweizen.

Draught (Welcome Hotel, Bamberg): Loads of banana, actually quite sweet. Medium bodied, but flat and lifeless. Hazy gold in colour white a white head. Nice fruits and spice, but lacks the carbonation expected with a weizen.

From a bottle--Poured a hazy deep yellow; a tad copper. Fruity, clove and yeast nose. Great wheat creaminess. Decent carbonation. A touch of bubblegum and peaty sugar, but overall, just well built and easy drinkin’.
