Slightly darker than usual for a hefeweizen and less fruity, quite sweet and thinly bodied with some spiciness in the finish. Easy to drink, but uninspiring. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 24, 2003 Nice hefty snow-white head with decent carbonation. Initial aroma of my grandmothers mulch pit in the back yard of rotting grass but mellows out quite a bit into a light clean wheat aroma. Color is a light gold. Not much sedimant/wheat present in the body as is typical of wheat beers. Flavor is a little thin but has a decent amount of spice present with a thin wheat yeast taste. Finish is spicy and dry. A decent what beer but there are quite a few others that are better. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
