Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

The head is low considering that his is a wheat. The color is light yellow and hazy. The aroma has notes of yeast and wheat and the flavour is sweet with notes of fruit and wheat. I think it’s OK, but not as good as Paulaner, Franziskaner - not to mention my favourite Maisel.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a nice white puffy head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, citrus and good fruitiness. Nice wheat and yeast flavour along with some malt and citrus, nice hoppiness.

Tierpark Nordhorn, straight from the bottle after a 70 miles cycling tour. Banana, grapes and some herbal notes. Refreshing, not surprisingly. Fairly yeasty, but the emphasis is on the fruitiness. Some yoghurt. Decent weizen.

a sim rate: Wheaty smell. Not too overwhelming. It had a huge head when poured which lasted all of 2 seconds. But it is a white beer afterall. The taste is smooth and very banana-ey which I’ve always loved about this beer. The banana lingers in the aftertaste which is one of this beer’s greatest assets.

An acceptably weissbeer. Rather sweet but still a bitter aftertaste. Quite a lot of carbon dioxide compared to similar beers. A good thick, white head that stays for a while.
