Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Bottle - 500ml. Hazy golden color. Its thick foamy head tends to dissipate quickly. Nice yeasty, fruity and spicy aroma. Taste is quite decent but lacks complexity. Dominated by yeasty flavors. Acceptable citrusy finish. Good Hefeweizen, but not among the best.

Pours orange/yellow with a large white susdsy head. Sweet aroma of wheat and apples... wait nope Oakes is right...it smells of pears. Modest flavors of banana, sourdough, and something slightly acidic like pears. Strong clove finish. Fluffy palate...lightly but smoothly carbonated. Its quite good...but just a tad off...

Big white head. Yellowish color. Fruity aroma particularly bananas. Wheat in the smell and the taste. Not bad but not great.

A beautiful pouring beer, nice head and wheat like body. Fragrance was quite nice. Taste is very pleasant although not especially substantial. All in all I enjoyed this beer quite a lot. Hefe Wiezens are almost always highly drinkable.

Cloudy gold, white head. Aroma of some banana, apple, and some clove. Similar flavor, but more pronounced. Medium creamy body. A decent wheat beer.

Pours a lemon honey color w/ a medium sized, semi creamy froth that slowly reduces to full lacing. Aroma is bright w/ musty boot leather. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. A slightly earthy style weissbier with mellow citrus rind fruit and a smooth finish. Well ballanced yet beholding a complexity not found in most hefeweizen brews. I really like the pronounced leathery aroma and flavor. Reminds me of wet bird feathers. PerfectIy carbonated, good hang time.

The waiter quirky waiter described it as "Kinda like St. Pauli Girl, you’ve had St. Pauli Girl right?... I think its from Belgium" "Sure I’ll have that." 12 oz bottle from Ande’s Restaurant Chicago drank on the patio on a warm evening, perfectly refreshing. Poured hazy and orange in a small hefe glass with the König Ludwig Weiss logo. Yeasty nose banana wheat similar flavors. Creamy wheat like a hefe should be. Tasty and refreshing.
