Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Snagged a bottle of this while visiting Milwaukee. Not bad, but not the best German hefe out there.

Bottled König Ludwig. 50cl. It pours as hazy yellow beer with a decent rocky white head. Rather sweet, a touch of spiciness, bananas and overripe apples, notes of plums, slightly bland taste, mouldy, a bit sour. Light grassy, toasty, citrussy finish.

Bottle. I quite liked this. Very light appearance, especially during the pour, big frothy head that made me wish that I had drank it from my stein instead of a pint glass. Banana-clove aroma and flavor, with a touch of thick breadiness that lingers into the aftertaste. Clean, refreshing, and nice.
