Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

dmit I bumped my numbers up a bit as I am presuming that this was a tad old (clue: ON SALE). Wasn't the least bit bad at all, just somewhat lacking in certain factors. And I do think that weissbiers tend to be much better fresh. It was rather well appreciated though as I consumed directly outside the store on a beautiful day as I was getting impatient for the rest of my party to finish shopping.

Slightly hazy with a wisp of a white head and obvious carbonation. Heavy banana aroma with some vanilla. The flavor follows the aroma. The palate is somewhat sharp for a Hefe and the finish is crisp. Decent body.

I’m really not too big on the look of the floaties in this one. Actually, they do not float, but quickly sink to the bottom of the glass. Hmmm...Hazy golden-hued body. Barely any head at all. Interesting sweet aroma - honey and wheat with lots of fruit. The flavor isn’t so sweet at all, but its pretty decent. Delicate floral notes. Chewy mouthfeel.

6oz sample at Virginia Beer Festival as a "König Ludwig" label. Pretty decent hefeweizen, a lot better than the American "German" ones I’ve had. Wheat and bananas, with some spice flavors in there. Nice finish.

Cloudy golden color with a small milky white head. Strong wheat aroma. Flavor of sweet and tart wheat, and a little spice.

Bottle poured into weizen glass during Trier music fest. Honestly don’t remember much other than an easy drinking hefe during the street festival.

Draught – Hazy golden body, white head; Huge and a little vulgar nose with lots of banana, yoghurt and juice from ripe grapefruit; A little soft, a little bitter body, only little carbonation; Quite long, very aromatic finish (same aromas as nose).
