Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Pale gold appearance, pretty clear for a weissen, with a large white head and a small amount of lacing. Yeasty, wheaty aroma with some spicy esters. Light-to-medium bodied; thin, watery palate. Taste is grainy, fruity (with some residual sweetness), well carbonated. Tart finish; moderate duration.

Spritzy, strong German hefeweizen. Bottle-conditioned, so it poured a murky golden colour with a brief white head and plenty of sedimentation. Classic banana wheat beer nose with a hint of bicarbonate of soda. Palate is light and spritzy despite the 5.5% alcohol. Biscuity notes, some malt and nuts. Nice dry finish. Easy drinking. (Bottle, sold in Australia as Konig Ludwig Weissbier)

Attractive cloudy gold. Bursting with a clovey aroma, quite nice. Envelops the tongue well, with a pretty clean wheaty body and flavor. The only place I can really deduct points is in the clean/crisp category. It is just a bit behind weihenstephan in that category.

Medium hazy honey with a smaller than expected lasting snowy white head. Faint metallic and plastic wafts through stronger stale sourdough. Medium light body for a German wheat. No use by date - I suspect this is far from fresh. Medium light stale bitter hops, medium light grapefruit zest sour, lightly sweet with hint of banana. Soft moderately bitter finish.

A hazy yellow/orange colored beer, with a big white foamy head. The aroma of yeast, malty sweetness and fruity citrus. The taste of malt, wheat and banana’s. It’s a fresh fruity enjoyable beer for warm days.

Bottle. Pours very hazy gold, white head. Aroma is smoky, musty, wheat, banana, clove, apple, sausage. Flavor is wheat, banana, potato, slightly smoky, citrus. A little too watery.
