| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2005 Spritzy, strong German hefeweizen. Bottle-conditioned, so it poured a murky golden colour with a brief white head and plenty of sedimentation. Classic banana wheat beer nose with a hint of bicarbonate of soda. Palate is light and spritzy despite the 5.5% alcohol. Biscuity notes, some malt and nuts. Nice dry finish. Easy drinking. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2002 Attractive cloudy gold. Bursting with a clovey aroma, quite nice. Envelops the tongue well, with a pretty clean wheaty body and flavor. The only place I can really deduct points is in the clean/crisp category. It is just a bit behind weihenstephan in that category. Faint metallic and plastic wafts through stronger stale sourdough. Medium light body for a German wheat. No use by date - I suspect this is far from fresh. Medium light stale bitter hops, medium light grapefruit zest sour, lightly sweet with hint of banana. Soft moderately bitter finish. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
